Women's Swim & Dive Wins GTC

Women’s Swimming and Diving walked away with the Green Team Certification title for the second year in a row. This year, the team notably worked to significnatly reduce waste while traveling to meets, planned a sustainable team banquet, and organized a taem hike to East Rock to pick up litter. Overall, we had 31 varsity and club teams participate in Green Team Certification this year, a record high! Coed Sailing trailed Women’s Swimming and Diving’s lead, followed by Gymnastics. Twelve teams ultimately became Green Team Certified for the 2017-2018 school year.

Recycling Bins in PWG

Thanks to feedback from sustainability captains and help from the Office of Sustainability and Yale Facilities, the Bulldog Sustainability team was able to secure recycling bins in all of the varsity locker rooms at Payne Whitney Gym! This is a great step towards creating a more sustainable environment in Yale Athletics.

Women's Club Water Polo Becomes Green Certified

Congratulations to the Women’s Club Water Polo Team for becoming the first Green Certified Team for the 2017-2018 school year! Not only are they the first Green Certified team of this year, this is also their first year participating in the Green Team Certification program. They notably planned a sustainable team retreat in which they used reusable cups and plates while cooking, brought reusable water bottles to practice, and carpooled throughout the weekend.
